The GAFF Film Night

The GAFF Film Night

We're having a film night on Twilight Thursday! Join us on 30 April 2026 from 5–7.30pm at our new home in 30 Lord Edward Street. The event is free but booking is essential, so get your tickets here to avoid disappointment.

The evening will showcase three beautiful films produced in recent years, by or in partnership with The GAFF, that highlight the diverse voices and stories of Limerick:

  • Children of the Castle, dir. Keith Bogue and Maeve McGrath – interviews with people about their childhoods living in the housing development in the barracks of King John's Castle

  • Knuck & Knuckle, dir. Ellie Marron and Sean Horgan – the story of how boxing and sport helped Lee Reeves through his personal grief journey, following the death of his mother Cathy

  • Being Put Back Together, dir. David McDonagh – Kaylen's journey with photography and personal challenges, seen through the eyes of his brother David.

This film night aims to celebrate local storytelling and underrepresented voices. The evening will be a great celebration of community-led arts practice. We hope to see you on the night!

Be aware that some of the films shown on the night will feature discussion of depression, self-harm and suicide.

The GAFF Film Night is supported by Limerick City and County Council through the Night Time Economy programme. 'Children of the Castle' and 'Being Put Back Together' were produced in collaboration with Dromglen Productions. 'Children of the Castle' was supported by The Arts Council of Ireland and Limerick Arts Office. 'Knuck & Knuckle' and 'Being Put Back Together' were supported by Creative Ireland's Traveller Wellbeing Through Creativity Programme.
