Stopping the Game, Rebooting FIFA and Ending Apartheid: The Politics of Football and the Question of Palestine

With the Irish men’s football team due to play Israel in a set of UEFA Nations League fixtures in the coming weeks, the Stop the Game campaign continues to highlight the responsibilities of the Irish government and the FAI not to play ball with a state engaged in apartheid and genocide against the Palestinian people. Join us at this public event for a discussion of Ireland’s responsibilities, the wider context of UEFA’s failure to enforce its own statutes against Israel, FIFA’s increasingly unethical approach to global football governance and the recently-launched campaigns against it, as well as the realities on the ground in Palestine at present.
