Queer Shed dlr: Pickling 101
Sharing food is love! So why not spend the “day of love” making food? 😊
Ideally, we would love to celebrate love every day of the year, but as long as that’s not the case, why not choose an alternative that doesn’t support consumerism (and for which you don’t need a date). But you’re more than welcome to bring one. Or two! Or as many as you want!
The focus will be on pickles, so on that beautiful day you’ll leave our event not only with a full heart but with some jars of pickles to take home with you as well. We will provide the jars and ingredients, but feel free to bring anything you’d like. We will prioritise vegetables that are currently in season and that we can source from Irish farmers.
We would love to see you there!
This is a masked event. FFP2 respirator masks will be provided at the venue.
Materials
We'll have some things on hand but please bring along any jars and any food items that you'd like to pickle!
Accessibility
Full information can be seen in the accessibility pack for this event.
The Balally Scout Den has a ramp to the entrance with a 6cm tall metal bar at the bottom of the doorframe. If you're going by public transport there is no direct side walk access to the Den except through grass. There is however parking right at the entrance of the Den. Bicycles can be parked inside or at the parish nearby. Please see our accessibility pack for pictures and detailed accessibility notes.
For those joining online, captions will be turned on at all times. Image descriptions will also be provided.
Accessibility is built-in to our events as much as we can. That being said, we realise that there may be access barriers we have not yet accounted for. If you have any specific access requests, or have questions you'd like to ask, please get in touch with us via email or on our socials (linktree) and we will be happy to accommodate.
