DESCRIPTION:THE ROOKERY STORIES\n\nThe collective noun for Rooks is a Story
telling\, so it follows that the\ncollective noun for Storytellers must be
a Rookery. Storytellers at every level\,\nfrom fledglings to old crows ar
e invited to join our Rookery every month at A4\nsounds to swap stories\,
develop their craft and find community in an inclusive\nand accessible env
ironment that centres the queer and the disabled. This\ntradition and this
art was once the province of the marginalised\, who now find\nourselves e
xcluded all too often\, join us in reclaiming it.\n\n\nFORMAT\n\nThis is a
n experimental space and we will play with the format until the right\nfit
emerges. We’ll do our best to make the room feel cosy and informal\, no s
tage\nand comfy seats. At the beginning of the event those interested in t
elling a\nstory can add their name to the list at the front desk. There wi
ll be\napproximately six slots each session. Each slot will be 10 minutes-
	ish. After\nsome pre-chats in our garden\, story time will start! You’ll b
e invited to get\ncomfortable in our gallery and our host Hog and Dice wil
l facilitate the\nevening. After an introduction from our host\, each of t
he six storytellers will\nshare their stories with the group. When everyon
e has shared their stories\, Hog\nand Dice will close the evening and then
we can return to our outdoor garden for\ndrinks and refreshments! \n\n\nH
OG & DICE\n\nOnce described as being like “a lovely loaf of fresh baked br
ead served at a\nsatanic orgy” Fáin is an oral storyteller with a multidis
ciplinary background\nwho loves to discuss the bizarre\, the subversive an
d the deviant while creating\nan atmosphere of comfort\, safety and comrad
ery. Fáin studied Irish Folklore at\nUCD\, laboured in the story mines of
The National Leprechaun Museum\, and has\nproduced various multi-media pro
jects including podcasts\, audio-dramas\,\nAlternative Reality Games and v
ideo essays. Often involving weird little\npuppets.\n\nTheir influences in
clude Growler\, Tom Waits\, Screamin’ Jay Hawkins and the local\ncrows.\n\
