	liam will be in\nconversation with Jacqui McIntosh\, curator at the Colleg
	e of Psychic Studies\,\nwhere MacWilliam’s work can also presently be seen
	 as part of The Medium is the\nMessage.\n\nMacWilliam and McIntosh will di
	scuss Table Turning and its engagement with\npsychical study and women’s l
	iberation in the nineteenth and twentieth\ncenturies. It will run for appr
	oximately ninety minutes.\n\nSusan MacWilliam works between Belfast and Du
	blin\, where she is a lecturer in\nFine Art at the National College of Art
	 and Design. In 2009\, MacWilliam\nrepresented Northern Ireland at the 53r
	d Venice Biennale. She is represented by\nCONNERSMITH.\n\nJacqui McIntosh 
	is an independent researcher\, writer and curator based in\nLondon. As Cur
	ator and Archivist at the College of Psychic Studies in London\,\nshe care
	s for and curates their extensive collection of spirit-inspired art\,\npho
	tography and artefacts from 1850 to today.\n\nAbout Table Turning:\n\nSinc
	e 1997\, Susan MacWilliam has had an ongoing fascination with how humans h
	ave\nsought to document and quantify the spirit realm. This exhibition exp
	lores the\nstudy of psychic phenomena with new work made through meticulou
	s\, manual\nprocesses: the cutting\, stitching\, sculpting\, and moulding 
	of paper\, felt\, and\nclay. For MacWilliam\, “the realisation of ideas an
	d objects in the studio” is\nakin to “the manifestations and materialisati
	ons of the séance room”.
