DESCRIPTION:Pinky Ring presents a series of plaster relief carvings shaped
	by ideas of\nspeculative function\, symbolic architectures\, and objects o
f personal affection.\nFaceted gemstones appear throughout the works\, fun
ctioning like small acts of\nemphasis or attachment.\n\nChosen in the way
one might select a piece of jewellery to mark a moment of\nsignificance\,
they introduce a sense of private importance to scenes\, systems\,\nand ob
jects that otherwise remain speculative and unresolved.\n\nRecurring forms
move throughout the works utilising the logic of instructions\,\nsymbols\
	, or traces of larger systems. Arrows\, chambers\, vessels\, and passages\
nsuggest consequence or function without ever resolving into stable meanin
	g. The\ntitles reflect this same tension\, moving between plain descriptio
n and private\nimplication.\n\nIn Pinky Ring\, materials such as oil paint
	s\, stains\, pastels\, hides\, and inks\nintroduce softness\, ornament\, t
exture\, and vulnerability into the surfaces of\nthe reliefs. Combined wit
h plaster and stone\, they allow sincerity and ambiguity\nto coexist withi
n works that seem structured or severe. At the core of the\nexhibition is
an interest in how personal objects can absorb memory\, attachment\,\nand
become charged with emotional weight.\n\nAccompanying the exhibition is a
commissioned text by Cork-based curator Katie\nO’Grady.
