DESCRIPTION:Join us at the launch of ON THE ROPES\, a new cap designed by v
isual artist and\nstudio member Léann Herlihy for Temple Bar Gallery + Stu
dios.\n\nJoin us in Studio 1 to be the first to buy an ON THE ROPES cap de
signed by Léann\nHerlihy\, screenprint a limited edition tote bag\, and en
joy some rehydrating\nrefreshments.\n\nThe concept behind the cap is inspi
red by Herlihy's own artistic practice.\nHerlihy pulls references from una
rchived fragments\, found at the back of storage\nrooms\, or virtually spi
ralling down the threads of online forums as they\nscavenge for remnants o
f those who have been deliberately or accidentally\nexcluded from society.
\n\nAlongside the nostalgic naughties shrug emoticon\, the cap features sn
ippets of\ntext pulled from the female wrestling magazine Fighting Gals Mo
nthly: A Galaxy\nof Female Combat where women's sexuality was deployed as
a combative tool to\npatriarchal resistance. The cap comes with a pencil i
	nscribed with the words\n'Bounce Back!' and a custom-designed\, 3D-printed
pencil holder inspired by those\ncommonly found on construction workers'
hard hats.\n\nThrough these various elements Herlihy encourages the wearer
to hold space for\nthe transformative power of collapse\, a position whic
h counters the modern-day\nneoliberal narrative that we all must be 'resil
ient'\, and simply 'bounce back'\nthrough labour to meet the daily demands
. ON THE ROPES celebrates the great\nnumber of strained bodies\, and those
who resist flexibility\, in favour of\nchallenging the status quo and sha
	ttering a system which never served us.\n\n\n\nPRICES & AVAILABILITY:\n\nE
