DESCRIPTION:“Long-term Celtic music fans should flock to them – they’re a d
	eliciously\ndoomier Clannad – while devotees of Ireland’s current\, brilli

n Folk Album Of The Year\n\n“While their albums are wonderful\, seeing Lan
dless live took my love of them to\nan entirely new level...They give me g
	oosebumps from the very first note\, every\ntime." – Songlines\n\nEnthusia

	tps://billetto.ie/e/landless-glitterbeat-records-tickets-1922733]\n\nLandl
ess are: Lily Power\, Méabh Meir\, Ruth Clinton and Sinéad Lynch. The Iris
h\nquartet sings centuries old ballads as well as more recently penned fol
k songs.\nSometimes unaccompanied and at times with subtle instrumentation
\, their vocally\nrich music is dark and patient\; spellbinding and gorgeo
	us.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Cu3HZEr_NAE\n[https://www.youtube.c
om/watch?v=Cu3HZEr_NAE]\n\nLúireach\, their second album\, was named Folk
Album of the Year 2024 by The\nGuardian. Lúireach is an album of quiet pow
er\, soaked in tradition but finding\nnew and exciting ways to present the
se remarkable songs\, songs that are full of\nmelancholy\, love\, death an
	d mystery.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=6cbbq1GZ_gA\n[https://www.yo
utube.com/watch?v=6cbbq1GZ_gA]\n\nWorking once again with John ‘Spud’ Murp
hy (the Lankum producer and ØXN member)\,\nLúireach\n\nsees the quartet ad
	ding sparingly-used instrumentation – Ruth’s aching pump\norgan on Death &
The\n\nLady\, Méabh’s shruti box on Ej Husari\, Lankum’s Cormac MacDiarma
da on fiddle\,\nviola and banjo\n\nthroughout\, even some mournful trombon
e from Alex Borwick on The Newry\nHighwayman. As Lily explains\, “A lot of
the instrumentation happened organically\nas we were recording\, while so
me\n\nelements we have used live for years\, like the organ. We tend not t
o make these\nkinds of decisions in\n\nadvance\, but make suggestions as w
e go and see how everyone feels about it.\nHopefully the album still has t
he impact of the unaccompanied singing\, with a\nbit of variation this tim
e around.”\n\nThe songs on Lúireach are from remarkably diverse sources an
d eras: the likes of\nBlackwaterside\, Death & The Lady and My Lagan Love
(learned from Traveller Paddy\nDoran\, Norma Waterson and Méabh’s late fat
her respectively) are probably known\nto even the casual fan of traditiona
l music\, while Lúireach Bhríde was\ncommissioned for the RTÉ Folk Awards
in 2018 and the closing song Ej Husari was\nlearned from teacher and singe
r Eva Brunovská at the annual Rozhybkosti festival\nin Slovakia. Some of t
hese songs are centuries old\, some remarkably recent\, yet\nwhen sung by
Landless\, they all sound timeless and eternal.\n\nSeamas Hyland\n\nSeamas
Hyland is a multi-instrumentalist and composer who focuses on both\ntradi
tional and experimental music. He enjoys exploring the varied sonic\ncapab
ilities of the button accordion and creating tonal landscapes using field\
nrecordings he collects.Seamas recently released his debut solo album ‘Mai
din\nDomhnaigh’ and was nominated for an RTÉ Folk award for best emerging
artist in\n2025. He has also collaborated with artists like John Francis F
lynn\, Jennie\nMoran and Eimear Walshe\, and is particularly intrigued by
the contrasting nature\nof traditional and contemporary music and how/if t
	hese can be presented\ntogether.\n\nhttps://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0V69st
